Oil paintings on canvas: how to choose one for your home
Here are all my oil paintings that are available now. Each is painted in oil on canvas and exists as a single original. Every painting has its own page with several photos: the whole work, close-up details, a side view, and for some works the painting in a room — so you can picture it at home.
What size fits your wall?
Above a sofa, a painting about two thirds of the sofa’s width usually works best. Paintings like “Serenity” (100 × 120 cm) or “In the Silence of the Heart” (90 × 70 cm) create one clear focal point. Medium works — “On the Way — Tel Aviv” (60 × 70 cm) or “Artichokes” (50 × 40 cm) — suit a dining area, a kitchen or a narrow wall. A small piece like “Hadera” (40 × 40 cm) looks good in a hallway, a study or as part of a gallery wall.
How high to hang it?
A simple rule: the centre of the painting at eye level, about 145–150 cm from the floor. Above a sofa or a sideboard, leave 20–25 cm between the furniture and the bottom of the frame so they read as one composition.
A painting for each room
Living room — a painting with presence: a large portrait or a cityscape full of light. Bedroom — quiet tones such as soft blue. Kitchen and dining area — warm colours and still life. Study or office — a small work that inspires without distracting. That is how wall art for the home works with a room instead of competing with it.
Why an original oil painting and not a print?
In an oil painting you see the brushstrokes, the thickness of the paint and the light changing through the day. A canvas print can be pretty, but it is flat. An original is one work, made by the artist’s hand, and it stays in the home for years.
How to ask about a painting
Tap “Ask about this painting” on the work’s page. The WhatsApp or email message already includes the painting’s name and link, and I reply myself — about price, size or anything else.
